Your private driver-guided whiskey tour of Ireland started in Dublin - Ireland’s capital and biggest city. Your driver-guide will be waiting to greet you at the airport when you arrive and show you to your luxury vehicle.
Your whiskey vacation will start with a quick tour through Dublin City centre on your way to your first destination of the tour: The Teeling Distillery.
The Teeling family has been distilling whiskey since 1782 - opening The Teeling Whiskey Distillery and visitor centre in 2015 to help immerse locals and tourists alike in the family’s incredible history and its contribution to Ireland and Irish whiskey.
Your second destination on Day 1 of this packed Whiskey tour is Glendalough - one of Ireland’s youngest whiskey producers. Giving you a perfect contrast to the history and tradition of Teeling; Glendalough is making a real splash in the whiskey market right now, with the development of an immersive visitor centre and a range of other spirits.
Your driver-guide will then deliver you safety (albeit a little drunk) to your accommodation for the night in Dublin. You may want to take advantage of Dublin’s incredible selection of restaurants and bars throughout the evening, or nestle in for a good night’s sleep ahead of Day two.
Day two of your custom Irish whiskey tour kicks off with a late morning visit to the incredible Walsh Distillery at Royal Oak. Walsh has been distilling since 1999, but established the Walsh Distillery at Royal Oak back in 2016 to offer visitors a truly incredible tour experience!
We’ll stop for a spot of lunch before driving to the world-famous Tullamore Dew Distillery. Tullamore has been active since 1829(!) and has been invited fans from around the whole to enjoy its delightful tour and visitor experience - allowing attendees to learn about the history of Irish whiskey and Tullamore Dew.
Once you’ve had your whiskey fill for the day (or at least afternoon), we’ll travel across to Galway and your accommodation for the second night in Ireland.
Today we’ll wake up early and travel about half an hour from your accommodation in Galway to the Cliffs of Moher - the world-famous coastline of Ireland. Here you may want to go for a short walk to explore before we head to the fifth distillery of our Whiskey tour: Slane.
Slane Distillery is one of Ireland’s newest whiskey brands, having only been established back in 2015 - however, this hindsight has allowed them to create a truly wonderful distillery experience (based on the grounds of Slane Castle) and is one of the best-regarded new brands on the Island.
From Slane, we’ll travel to the North of the Island - stopping along the way for a quick drink or something to eat - and stay the night in Belfast.
Belfast has a wide selection of brilliant whiskey tasting experiences, bars and restaurants for you to choose from as well as a great range of 4 and 5-star hotels (speak to your personal tour expert today to find out more).
Day four starts with a bit of tourism and history at the Titanic Museum in Belfast. The Titanic Museum is a fascinating step back in time (while being in a state-of-the-art building) and offers visitors a chance to find out more about our world-famous ship and how it was built.
From the Titanic Museum, we can stop for a spot of lunch at the Titanic Hotel (if you wish to keep the theme going), before driving to Bushmills Distillery.
Founded back in 1784, Bushmills is one of the oldest working distilleries on the island of Ireland and is famous for its whisky’s light structures and fruity profiles. The distillery offers a comprehensive touring and visitors experience to boot, helping you tough, taste and smell the history of Irish whiskey for yourself!
Following our visit to Bushmills, we’ll return to Belfast for the night.
Our final full day in Northern Ireland will be spent firstly with breakfast at St George’s Market, before a quick tour of the Peace Walls to learn about the troubled history of the Island of Ireland.
In the late morning, you and your driver-guide will travel to Carrick-a-Rede and the Giant’s Causeway before heading back to Belfast to settle into a Private Whiskey Tasting at Henry’s Bar - a pub steeped in over 100 years of history!
In the evening, you and your driver-guide will attend the Belfast Whiskey Walk - an incredible selection of Belfast’s best whiskey bars - where you will also get the chance to try some traditional nibbles and snacks!
Your driver-guide will ensure you get back to your accommodation safe and sound where you can rest ahead of a busy Day Six!
On the second last day of your tour in Ireland - you and your driver-guide will depart from the Northern Capital and head back to Dublin. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Whiskey Tasting Museum - where you will learn even more about the history and tasting techniques of our distilled delights.
Afterwards, you’ll have a chance to test what you’ve learned during your museum trip with a Whiskey Tasting Room at the world-famous Temple Bar.
Finally, your driver-guide will escort you to your accommodation in Dublin for the night.
All good things must come to an end, but we thought - if you have time - we could fit in one last distillery on your private whiskey tour… and it’s a cracker!
The morning of your final day will be spent at the incredible Jameson Distillery Experience. Established back in 1780, Jameson Distillery is famous for distilling its namesake - Jameson Irish Whiskey.
Throughout the tour, you’ll get the chance to learn the secrets of how Irish whiskey is made before enjoying a comparative tasting test to show you how the traditional methods of Jameson are pronounced in their whiskey and even have a chance to bottle your own whiskey to take home from the cask or purchase a bottle of personalised and exclusive Jameson directly from the distillery!
Your driver-guide will then deliver you to the airport in time for your flight, helping you with your bags to your check-in desk to ensure no final hick-ups, before wishing you a safe onward journey and leaving you with unforgettable memories (depending on the amount of Whiskey you’ve consumed, we cannot guarantee some won’t be blurry) of the Island of Ireland!
