Your private driver-guided tour of the ‘Known World’ starts as your guide greets you at Dublin Airport - ready to take your group on an unforgettable four-day Game of Thrones tour.
You and your driver-guide will travel from Dublin to the north of Ireland, where large sections of the HBO hit series was filmed. Once we cross the border into the North, we’ll waste no time by visiting Castle Ward: The filming destination for Winterfell of House Stark.
Here you can explore the castle grounds and find out more about how and where Game of Thrones was filmed there, even trying your hand at some archery if you care to.
Next, we’ll take a short drive to Inch Abbey - fans will recognize the Abbey as the filming location for Rob Starks camp in Season One where he was proclaimed the King of the North.
In the evening, your driver-guide will take you to the capital of the North: Belfast. Here, your driver-guide will take your group for a short city tour - where you’ll get the chance to see the wonderful Game of Thrones-themed stain glass windows placed in multiple tourist hotspots around the city before delivering you to your accommodation for the night and giving you the evening to explore Belfast’s superb selection of bars and restaurants.
On the second day of your Game of Thrones tour of Ireland, we travel from Belfast to Castle Dunluce - the filming location for the Iron Islands. Fans of the series will recognize the area where Theron first landed on Pyke Island, while Castle Dunluce itself - perched on the edge of the coast - is the location for Castle Greyjoy.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit nearby attractions Carrick-a-Rede (which is said to have inspired the dramatic rope bridges connecting Castle Greyjoy) and Giants Causeway.
In the evening, if we have time, we’ll visit Titanic Studios (where much of the interior scenes in the series were filmed) and the Titanic Museum (for a slight break from GOT attractions) before returning to your accommodation for the night.
Day three starts with a visit to the north coast of Ireland and to Murlough Bay - known as ‘Slaver’s Bay’ in the seven kingdoms and where Tyrion and Ser Jorah were first discovered and captured by the slavers in the series.
Next, we’ll stop for a spot of lunch at a nearby town before traveling to the Dark Hedges: a dramatic stretch of road used at the end of Season One when Arya starts her journey on the King’s Road.
From there, we’ll head for Cushenden Caves, where Ser Davos brought the Red Women ashore before she went on to mother the Shadow Baby that killed Renly Baratheon. Our last destination in Day three is Cairncastle - where Ned Stark executes the deserter of the Night’s Watch in the first episode of the series.
Your driver-guide will then take you back to your accommodation in Belfast for a well-earned rest!
Alas, as all good things must come to an end, we reach the final day of your Game of Thrones tour - however, we may have time to fit in a couple of extra destinations before returning you to Dublin in time for your flight.
First, we’ll head from Belfast to The Haunted Forest (referred to as Tollymore Forest Park outside of the known world) where numerous significant GOT scenes were filmed. Indeed, it was in the Haunted Forest that we were first introduced to the White Walker, where the Starks first find their Direwolves and where Ramsey ‘The Bastard of Bolton’ hunts Theon Greyjoy.
If we still have time after exploring the forest park, we’ll try to arrange a meeting with the Direwolves that featured in the series (okay… so they are actually domesticated dogs, but wolves sound a bit more dramatic). This is, of course, depending on the availability of our furry friends.
Finally, your driver-guide will escort your group back to Dublin from the north - stopping along the way wherever you please (depending on the time of your flight). They will help you with your bags to your check-in desk to make sure there are no last-minute problems, before bidding you farewell and leaving you with fantastic memories of your time in the Seven Kingdoms!
